Must Watch: White Girl
Netflix has so many hidden gems and White Girl is definitely one of them. Director Elizabeth Wood took her journals from adolescence and creating a beautiful, breathtaking story about love and the extremes we will go to to keep it. The film premiered at Sundance Film Festival in January 2016 and was officially released last September. The plot follows a college girl Leah, played by Morgan Saylor, who falls for a man she has just met. Wild drug-fueled nights out lead to trouble and Leah has to figure out how to fix her mistakes. The cinematography is incredible and made me fall even more in love with this complicated, intense relationship. I would highly recommend this to anyone who loves a good dramatic love story and wants a deeper look into the lives of NYC youth.
