New Music: AMEA
Oklahoma born and Ohio raised R&B singer-songwriter AMEA has been rising to attention with music and style often compared to Erykah Badu, Lauren Hill, and Syd the Kid. After countless open mics and live performances in Washington D.C., San Antonio, Houston, and more- AMEA's music has garnered acclaim with the release of her single record, "VayCay" shortly followed by her 2016 EP release, Baggage Claim via Spotify, Apple Music, and Soundcloud.
Fall is officially here and AMEA decided to surprise family, friends, and fans in the best way possible, by releasing a single off her upcoming album The Learning Tree Pt. 1. 2017 has been a year of growth, which brought SXSW multiple appearances, a 1st time New York show, a summer Texas Tour, and much more.
The single titled “Space(ships)” is an ode to everything that has happened to AMEA so far in 2017 and what is to come. The release comes in the form of a visual art (thanks to Cassidy Fritts) inspired by AMEA’s Native American and African roots. The song was co-produced by AMEA, Jonah Conrad and James Blue. It features a danceable beat with sweet vocals and a chorus inspired by Kanye West. “Space(ships)” is a what you get when you mix Afrofuturism with R&B deep in the heart of Texas.
“This song is affirmation to not stop embracing the learning of our lived and living experiences”
AMEA is currently preparing for an album release while simultaneously taking her last semester for her Master’s in Sociology from the University of Texas at San Antonio.
