ACL Picks: Must See Local Acts
Music festivals are notorious for not featuring enough female and nonbinary artists. While it has gotten better, there is still a lot of room for improvement. We believe it starts with us, so here are some of our favorite local ladies we'll be scoping out at ACL.
The Wild Now
Coming off of an East Coast tour earlier this summer, indie-pop duo The Wild Now is poised to captivate ACL crowds this weekend. Taylor Baker and Drew Walker have been carefully crafting a new sound with the help of their band mates Greg Clifford, Chase Goldman, and Errol Siegel. They are slotted at 11:45 AM on the Miller Lite stage this Friday, October 6th. You'll know where to go once you hear the dreamy vibes floating through the air. You can also catch them at their Late Night show alongside James Vincent McMorrow on October 12th.

Bringing the soul of RnB back to Austin, Mélat is steadily solidifying her place as a local favorite. Her smooth voice glides over effortless beats in a way that makes it impossible not to sway along. She released an insane visual teaser on Instagram today to held you get in the mood for the weekend. You can catch her this Sunday, October 8th at 12:30 on the Tito's stage.
Must hear songs: Konjo, Fanclub
This trio of siblings is dominating their game right now. Vocalist Cara Bishop, producer Troy Bishop, and rapper Luv Bishop are melding genres together to create a fresh sound that is guaranteed to get people grooving with the help of their drummer, Alex Duck. They are becoming a festival staple and are catching the attention of publications throughout Austin. Catch the vibe Friday, October 13th at 12:30 on the Tito's stage.

Annabelle Chairlegs is the personification of all of our wavy-psych fever dreams. If that isn't enough to draw you in, they are self-described as "dad rock written for Quentin Tarantino". They are fresh off a tour and ready to bring the rock back to Austin. Don't miss their ACL take over next Friday, October 13th at 11:45 AM on the Miller Lite stage.
