Close your eyes and imagine you're on an island, the sun in setting, you're drinking something out of a pineapple. Now open your eyes to see you're standing on South Congress in the heart of Austin, TX. This is what The Wild Now feels like. This duo is comprised of front-woman Taylor Baker and her right hand man, Drew Walker. The pair met at SXSW a few years ago and have been perfecting their sound ever since. Their rhythm section is incredibly locked in with Errol Siegel on guitar, Chase Goldman on bass, and Greg Clifford on drums. They claim Glass Animals, Local Natives, and Alabama Shakes as influences, but their sound is completely their own. Electronic samples layered with guitar and Baker's breathtaking vocals melt into a fresh new genre they aptly call "indie gelato". Their debut EP, 'Tides', is making waves with the dreamy single 'Salt' reaching over one million plays on Spotify. They have new music (and a music video!) coming soon but until then you can see them this Friday (2/10) at Stubb's Indoor in Austin playing the Young the Giant after party. Tickets here.

Find The Wild Now on Facebook and Instagram, and be sure to catch them around town at their upcoming shows.
