Galentine's Day Watchlist

Galentine's Day is a sacred holiday to us at Venus. It is the ultimate day for female empowerment (though we celebrate that year-round) and a great chance to share some love with the ladies in your life. Call your girlfriends tonight and have them come over to reenact your favorite sleepover memories. We have your music and pampering covered- all you have to do is decide which of these to watch first.

Season 2, Episode 16 is what started it all. Mosaic portraits, personalized 5,000 word essays, and frittatas are truly the foundation of any friendship.

This one might be more for the frenemies in your life, but there are some hidden female friendship gems.

Fair warning- if you are emotional like me you will definitely need tissues for this one. Also we definitely need more movies about women loving women.

Girlhood is a riveting French film following troubled 16-year old Marieme. Between distancing herself from her troubles at home and proving herself worthy of her place in a girl gang, Marieme finds the perfect balance of what is true to her. Plus it was written and directed by a woman--Céline Sciamma!

Love, Rosie

Love, Rosie is a best friend romance in which both main characters constantly miss each other back and forth through kids, divorces, broken engagements, etc, but still find each other drawn to one another. Lilly Collins plays a strong single mother and entrepreneur figure, and Sam Claflin is a babe (and also awesome co-lead actor). Cute chick flick for Galentine's day!

We can't leave out this iconic sleepover scene from Grease!

And if you watch the first one, you have to watch the second one. You might learn a thing or two on: reproduction, patriotism, and unhealthy relationships. Just try to ignore how sexist the Grease films are, it distract from the terribly-cute songs that we've known every word to since the age of 7.

Patrick Swayze's moves make us swoon, but Jennifer Grey is the real star of this movie.
